Justin Reardon grew up in Tranquility, New Jersey, where art, music and sports were a steady diet. He was recruited to play Division 1 Football at Miami University Ohio, where he also earned a degree in Fine Arts. Upon graduation, he opted to go into advertising instead of attending film school. He spent two years at Leo Burnett Chicago before joining DDB Chicago, where his career took off. Reardon co-created the iconic Budweiser “Whassup” campaign, which won the Cannes Grand Prix, and, soon after, Budweiser’s Emmy-nominated Jersey Guys’ “Howyadoin’?” campaign.
Reardon’s passion for filmmaking catapulted him in to directing fulltime. He moved to Los Angeles in 2001. By 2003, he broke onto the scene at Turnpike Films with spec spots he wrote, directed and edited—Nutrigrain’s “Feel Great” and Budweiser’s “Magic Bottle,” among them. Both amassed 22 million hits on various blogs and sites and became among the first viral sensations.
After being named to Saatchi & Saatchi’s prestigious New Directors Showcase in Cannes, Reardon signed with Anonymous Content where he refined his signature comedic storytelling style with sweeping visual sensibilities to match. His Amp’d Mobile spot, “Family Reunion,” immediately nabbed a Cannes Bronze Lion. Other directing highlights included Ubisoft’s “Let’s Go Ride” via Cutwater SF and featuring an unflappable Sean White, and AT&T’s rock-operatic “Paradise by the GoPhone Light” via BBDO NY, with none other than Meat Loaf himself! More recently, Reardon worked with BBH NY on Axe, and with Heat SF on EA’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour game.
Reardon joined Station Film this Summer for representation in commercials and digital content, a move that reunites him with the company’s EP/Partner Michael Di Girolamo (former VP/Head of Sales at Anonymous). He just completed his first short film, Zoltan: The Hungarian Gangster of Love, and has two features in development: Warner Bros.’ The Awakening of Jean-Luc Barbara and indie film Convention, with Rushmore’s Paul Schiff producing.
